On 28 November 2022, <\/strong>the compliance officer gave a report on the progress of measures to eliminate corruption risks in the partnership’s activities and on the significance of the early presidential election of the Republic of Kazakhstan.<\/p>\n

On 20 November, an early presidential election of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held. Elections in the Republic are based on the free exercise by citizens of the Republic of their right to elect and be elected. The President is elected on the basis of universal, equal and direct suffrage by secret ballot.<\/p>\n

The speaker noted the great importance of the presidential election for the citizens of Kazakhstan. Participation of citizens of the Republic in elections is voluntary. No one has the right to force a citizen to participate or not to participate in elections, or to restrict the expression of their will.<\/p>\n

Universal active suffrage is the right of citizens of the Republic to vote in elections upon reaching the age of eighteen, regardless of origin, social, official and property status, sex, race, nationality, language, attitude to religion, beliefs, place of residence or any other circumstances.<\/p>\n

Citizens declared legally incapable by a court, as well as those held in places of deprivation of liberty by a court sentence, do not participate in elections.<\/p>\n

The following may not be a candidate for President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, for deputy of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including on party lists, or of maslikhats, for akim of cities of district significance, villages, settlements or rural districts, or for member of any other local self-government body:<\/p>\n

1) a person with a criminal record that has not been expunged or cancelled in accordance with the procedure established by law;<\/p>\n

2) a person whose guilt in committing a corruption crime or corruption offence has been established by a court in accordance with the procedure established by law.<\/p>\n

It should also be noted that on 26 November the inauguration ceremony of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan took place at the Independence Palace.<\/p>\n

The presidential election opened a new political season. The election campaign lasted about three months. During this period, different opinions were expressed and meaningful discussions were held about the future of our country. Citizens showed that they care about their future. It became clear that civil society has become a fully-fledged institution. New figures appeared on the political scene. On 20 November, the people made their choice.<\/p>\n

Awareness of these facts should promote respect for the law and the prevention of corruption and conflicts of interest in the partnership.<\/p>\n

The speaker reminded everyone that every Wednesday, from 15:00 to 17:00, the General Director of the Partnership receives employees on personal matters, as well as on proposals for improving the Partnership’s work.<\/p>\n
